The role
SoFi is adding a Director - SOX 404 and Operations to its accounting team to help support our goal of SOX 404 readiness and continued process improvement within accounting operations
What you'll do:
- Champion the organization's SOX 404 readiness and implementation initiative, which is inclusive of developing process narratives, flowcharts and a key controls matrix
- Supervise our payroll and AP teams and provide process improvement, engage with internal stakeholders and solve problems as needed
- Develop strong relationships with our Technology team to ensure effective design and operation of IT based controls
- Serve as key point of contact for internal and external auditors as they assess our SOX 404 readiness and test internal controls over financial reporting
- Manage our NetSuite environment through supervision of our NetSuite project manager
What you'll need:
- Active CPA license; Bachelors or Masters degree in accounting
- 12 years of related experience with a Bachelor's degree; or 8 years and a Master's degree; or a PhD with 5 years experience; or equivalent experience.
- Big 4 accounting or a mix of Big 4 and industry experience is ideal
- Strong attention to detail and experience with continuous process improvement via automation
- Ability to take initiative and work independently
- SOX 404 implementation experience
- Strong understanding of COSO framework
- Proficient writing skills
- Financial systems experience
Nice to have:
- Financial services industry experience
- Proficient in MS Word and MS Excel
- NetSuite experience
- IPO experience
