Manage revenue accounting processes (recording, reporting and disclosures of revenue), statutory audit, cash applications, Interface between billings/collection and ERP systems, Institutionalizing controls over revenue reporting.
About the Role
• Review offline contracts, and provide recommendations and establish processes for recognition in accordance with company's revenue recognition policy
• Collaborate with sales and revenue operations organization to ensure that all revenue transactions are booked in accordance with the Company's revenue recognition policy.
• Analyse and assess the impact of all revenue streams of the Company, publish accounting memos as necessary to document the Company's accounting positions, and collaborate with the product and sales teams on obtaining necessary reports to operational accounting position.
• Understand the Billing system vs Product interface vs Accounting system and revisit revenue recognition of quote to cash process. Review new products with product management team and set up Billing and revenue accounting processes of all new products/changes to existing products.
• Responsible for the monthly close activities on revenue accounting, oversee reconciliations and analysis of all revenue, deferred revenue and receivables accounts and publish metrics to management, as required.
• Provide revenue recognition guidance; training to various teams in the company during the year.
• Assist in implementation for the new revenue recognition standards (ASC 606 - Revenue from Contracts With Customers) and other revenue related areas of SEC reporting
Experience / Qualifications
• 4 to 8 years experience in Revenue Accounting. Robust MIS reporting experience.
• Good understanding of revenue reporting universe including (revenue recognition, cash applications, reporting) and project.
