This growing Science and Research business are in need of an ambitious and driven individual to support their Financial Controller and assist with the continued growth and development of the business. Within this Huntingdon based role the Assistant Accountant will have full exposure across the department and receive the development synonymous with this business!

Description

The Assistant Accountant will be responsible for:

  • Ownership of the purchase ledger, responsible for the timely and accurate processing of invoices
  • The smooth running of the business payment runs
  • Bank and supplier statement reconciliations
  • Completion of VAT and Intrastat returns for the business and wider group companies
  • Cash flow reporting and ongoing forecasting for the business
  • Management and maintenance of the fixed asset register
  • Assistant with both internal and external audit processes
  • Supporting with the monthly management accounts and corresponding analysis

Profile

The successful candidate for the Assistant Accountant will be:

  • Ideally pursuing their ACCA or CIMA, AAT will also be considered
  • Previous experience within a busy finance department with a proven background of double entry bookkeeping
  • Strong user of Excel, capable of V Look-ups and Pivot Tables
  • Confident in working closely with senior internal and external stakeholders
  • Previous experience within a fast-paced Science and Research environment would be advantageous
