Your new role
Using your engagement skills and technical financial skills to support the division to in providing strategic and operational financial reporting to facilitate stakeholder decision-making and effective resource management.

Under limited direction our tasks will include:
  • Contribute to the establishment and implementation of management accounting processes and systems.
  • Preparation and approval of end of month processes including but not limited to: reconciliations, journals, and executive and management reporting;
  • Financial reporting on a monthly basis and assisting the Assistant Director with the annual financial statements, audit process & budget preparation;
  • Overseeing the management of the investment portfolio including placing investments, reporting on investment activities and maintaining the investments register;
  • Cash management including monitoring the operating account to ensure sufficient funds for large payments;

What you'll need to succeed

You'll have practical experience and sound knowledge of Australian Government Financial Framework. The Ability to interpret and apply the Accounting Standards (AASB) and the PGPA Act and rules, Estimates and other guidance as disseminated by the Department of Finance.

You'll have strong communicate and collaborate with a range of stakeholders, and produce written analysis to support deliverable's. You'll have initiative, proactive problem-solving skills and an ability to think outside the square.
