A leading construction company is looking for a senior CA(SA) to join their organization as a Group Accountant. This role plays an essential role within the organization and consolidating results for the Group as a whole is in essence the main responsibility of the Group Accountant.
The role will include the following responsibilities:
Financial Management & Reporting
- Preparation of management accounts.
- Review and manage full accounting function of Group and subsidiaries entities.
- Develop, propose and implement financial strategies.
- Set, manage and review financial and operational controls and releases.
- Preparation of financial reports including but not limited to Income statements,Balance sheets, Statement of Cashflow and Analysis Reports.
- Interpret financial information, make recommendations and escalate issues.
- Manage the implementation of recommendations (controls, cost savings, processes).
- Preparation of individual subsidiary and consolidated Group reports for Board meetings.
- Reconcile financial discrepancies by collecting and analyzing account information from relevant entities.
- Conduct forex recons and calculation of profit/loss on international transactions for foreign currency translation reserve.
Cashflow Management:
- Preparing the annual budget (including CAPEX & OPEX).
- Cashflow forecasting and planning.
- Cashflow forecasting of the Group's cashflow.
- Management of Fee Flow Schedules - liaise with relevant Directors and parties to update the schedule and ensure the reconciliation of project budgets versus monthly fee drawdown plan.
- Monitoring of Profitability
- Compliance and Corporate Governance
- Inter-Company Loan Accounts
- Dividends and Shareholding
- External Audit Management
- Payroll
The perfect applicant will have:
- Appropriate accounting qualification(s). CA SA
- Minimum of 5 years of accounting experience.
- Solid technical background, including consolidated reporting and statutory reporting experience.
- Highly organized and structured.
- Strong level of accuracy and attention to detail.
- Ability to take responsibility and be accountable.
- Able to work autonomously and as part of a broader team.
- Ability to solve complex problems.
- A proactive approach to problem-solving.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills (English command).
- Strong time management and prioritization skills.
- Intermediate to advanced computer software skills, including Excel and accounting
- packages (similar to NetSuite).
- Budgeting and forecasting experience.
- Hardworking, driven and passionate.
- Deadline driven.
