As an accountant within the Corporate Accounts team, you will combine your technical knowledge with communication and prioritisation skills to ensure that we maintain a strong control environment and help the business to meet its objectives.
  • Executing and improving our key statutory reporting processes (e.g. annual accounts preparation and approval, liaising with other key stakeholders such as Tax, FP&A and External Audit)
  • Taking responsibility for key control processes in the Statutory Reporting team's remit (e.g. month-end reconciliation preparation and review activities; reconciling external and intercompany debt balances and transactions; accounting for FX-denominated transactions including foreign currency hedges; cash repatriation planning, approval and execution)
  • Execution of various month-end group reporting processes for a variety of audiences
  • Project responsibilities relating to the evolution of the group structure, associated statutory reporting and group reporting processes following Asda's proposed transition to new ownership
  • Participating in cross-functional projects which improve the efficiency and effectiveness of our statutory reporting processes and corporate structure

What you'll need

ACA, ACCA or CIMA qualification

Strong academic background

Great analytical and communication skills

Ability to identify and execute accounting and control projects to improve our control environment

Manage competing priorities of your workload and that of the junior members of the team

Attention to detail whilst demonstrating ability to work at pace

Confidence liaising with people at all levels
