Financial Accountant

This is a great opportunity for a Part-qualified Financial Accountant to work with an exciting start-up based in Central London. You will work directly with the Finance Controller, assisting the company with finance functions and providing valuable reporting and analysis for decision making.

Specialising in high-end, high-tech clothing they are currently taking the market by storm with their cutting edge products. Based out of their offices in Central London they are already globally renowned for what they do.

Description

The Financial Accountant will be responsible for the following:

• Ensuring operational efficiency and accuracy across all financial accounting processes

• Supporting Financial Controller in providing valuable reporting and analysis for business

• Decision making

• Monthly reconciliation of all balance sheet lines

• Reviewing P&L postings to ensure correct coding

• Compiling monthly/quarterly management pack and supporting analysis

• Year end reconciliations and supporting on preparation of statutory accounts

• Weekly payment runs including approvals and raising payments

• Managing stock 3 way match tracker

• Daily bank account reconciliations

• Managing accounts receivable process and supplier queries

• Reviewing tax coding of sales to ensure accurate application of VAT/sales tax rates

• Submitting EU VAT data to outsourced VAT specialists

• Reviewing and submitting UK VAT return

• Raising global tax payments

• Weekly cashflow forecasting

• Managing VAT threshold tracker to ensure we are registered in all locations necessary

Profile

The successful Financial Accountant:

• Must have degree level education or equivalent experience

• Must be Part qualified (ACCA, CIMA, ICAS, ICAEW or international equivalent)

• Must have 4 years' minimum experience in similar accounting role

• Must have experience in a retail SME

• VAT and tax coding experience

• Experience in managing stock

• Experience in cashflow forecasting

• Management Accounts exposure (advantage)

• Strong month-end experience

• Highly motivated in taking on new challenges and tasks

• Strong attention to detail

• Organised and proactive

• Able to present information and communicate clearly and concisely
