Overview

The Client Finance Director is responsible for all client financial operations for the NY office. Reporting to the CFO, the Client Finance Director will partner with the Finance Director to manage the P&L, budget and forecasting processes, and be solely responsible for client financial management. This includes collaborating with internal partners on the bid and estimate process, rate card development, billing, and reconciliation. The Client Finance Director may or may not have staff management responsibilities.

Responsibilities

Responsibilities:
  • Drive revenue growth by leading new initiatives from planning through implementation
  • Partner with account and clients in the development, review, and management of SOW and construction of fees
  • Ensure all stakeholders are following proper, documented processes for development of work, bidding and estimating, approval of fees, billings and reconciliations
  • Develop and maintain rate cards in accordance with industry standards, agency protocol, and reflective of market conditions
  • Review and create consistent working templates including rate cards, WIP reports, estimating templates, work orders, etc.
  • Review and analyze data including staff utilization, revenue forecasts, actuals, etc. to ensure profitability
  • Ongoing review of financial process and practices with an eye toward enhancing profitability and improving effectiveness
  • Ensure billing is completed in a timely, consistent manner
  • Participate in monthly account reviews as a member of the core account leadership team
  • Ensure contractual compliance on all fronts
  • Manage relationships with clients, agency partners, and Hogarth offices
  • Oversee and resolve financial issues, such as, but not limited to WIP and accounts receivable
  • Collaborate on monthly, quarterly, annual reporting with Finance team
  • Advise internal agency partners and other Hogarth offices on best practices regarding US financial management practices
  • Participate in the AX financial system implementation
  • Contribute to Hogarth Worldwide NY office agency culture by exhibiting ownership, professionalism, passion and leading by example


Qualifications

Job requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree with a Business or Finance major, MBA a plus
  • 8-10 years of experience in Client Services industry, preferably media or advertising
  • Global experience (understand implications of withholding taxes, foreign effects)
  • Expertise in Client Finance
  • Results-driven
  • Strong client relationship skills
  • Ability to interact with Senior/Executive Management of the agency and client
  • Strong line manager with ability to hire, retain, and develop staff
  • Strong written/oral communication skills
  • Expert financial analysis skills
  • Must be commercially astute and able to work in a fast-paced, fluid environment
