Financial Controller Job in Southampton

We are working with a solutions-based world leading provider in recruiting for a Financial Controller to lead the financial control of the business and maintain and enhance the integrity of all financial information. As the Finance Controller, you will report directly to the Head of Finance and lead the central finance team to ensure that financial accounts, management information and tax records are prepared to meet management and statutory requirements.

Duties and Responsibilities:

* Maintain and evolve the system of accounting and financial controls to achieve best practice corporate governance and lead the finance team in stepping up to the task of supporting delivery of the strategy

* Manage and deliver month-end and year-end close process and implement robust outcome-focused reporting contributing to commercial decision-making to drive the strategy

* Provide financial strategic insight underpinned by technical accounting knowledge to support strategic decision-making

* Identify and monitor critical business performance indicators to monitor the key levers of the business to deliver the required strategic outcomes

* Manage all accounting operations including Cost Accounting, Inventory Accounting and Revenue Recognition

* Maintain the accounting and tax records of the group and subsidiaries to the highest standard in line with statutory requirements

Skills and Experience:

A background in Financial control and commercial businesses

* Qualified accountant with proven technical track record CIMA / ACA / ACCA qualified or equivalent qualification

* Proven track record of leading successful teams

* Good knowledge of accounting systems (SAP and D365 desirable)

* Demonstrable experience of the preparation of annual report and accounts

* Proven track record in influencing the delivery of improvements

Salary and Benefits

* A salary of circa £74,000 per annum

* Performance related bonus
