Audit Associate/Staff Auditor
Purpose of Job We are currently seeking a talented Audit Associate/Staff Auditor for the San Antonio Home Office or Plano Legacy location. Within defined guidelines and framework, performs basic audit and other job–related assignments in support of risk–based assurance and advisory engagements in the field of business operations/functions, finance, governance, risk management, compliance and/or information technology. Adheres to the Institute of Internal Auditors' International Standards for the Professional Practice of Internal Auditing (Standards) and Code of Ethics. Executes basic audit documentation techniques; accountable for own work paper documentation within quality standards, timely and accurately. Develops an understanding on how to gather and analyze data to perform tasks assigned by AIC. Attends and participates in team audit activities such as planning and scoping, business understanding/walkthroughs, review of risk assessment and testing for assigned areas of responsibility and demonstrates critical thinking ability and begins early stage development of expertise (ie, technology, CoSA, business line products, broadening business acumen). Assists in updating the engagement level risk & control Matrix with guidance and support from AIC. Minimum Education Bachelor's degree in Business or relevant field such as Finance, Accounting, Business, or Information Technology. 4 additional years of related experience beyond the minimum required may be substituted in lieu of a degree. Minimum Experience Up to 2 years of audit, financial, insurance, banking, information technology or related business experience. World Class Benefits (31 seconds) Leads and executes both moderately and highly complex audit engagements throughout the audit lifecycle. Manages engagement–related efforts and assignments of staff with varying degrees of expertise and experience when conducting engagements as the Auditor–in–Charge (AIC). Provides coaching and guidance to other auditors to ensure quality and timely audit engagement deliverables. Updates engagement risk assessments utilizing current data. Develops and verifies accuracy of content within audit reports and continuous monitoring. Reviews work papers and delivers audit team end of engagement evaluations when applicable. Leads continuous monitoring and advisory activities, special reviews and investigations. Builds and develops relationships both internally within Audit Services and externally with clients and control partners to help drive strategic objectives with the business. Ensures engagements are completed objectively, professionally, and in accordance with corporate and industry audit standards. Identifies and remediates issues and roadblocks to successful completion of audit activities. Provides guidance on the use of business systems, applications, and/or audit tools to create queries and ad hoc reports. Reviews, analyzes, and interprets data collected from multiple sources to ensure valid conclusions are drawn. Communicates with the business/clients; delivers both risk–based and difficult messages. May communicate with regulators and leaders. Identifies control weaknesses and opportunities for improvement in the current operating environment and provides recommendations for corrective action; drafts the related audit issues and audit reports for issuance to respective client leadership and coordinates and/or conducts follow–up activities as defined in the observations. Minimum Education: Bachelor's degree in Business relevant field. Four additional years of related experience beyond minimum required may be substituted in lieu of a degree. Minimum Experience: 6 or more years of audit, financial, insurance, banking, information technology or related business and/or leadership experience OR relevant masterâ?'s degree with 4 or more years of relevant experience Advanced knowledge of Audit theory and demonstrated experience in audit execution. Preferred Experience: 6 yearsâ?? experience in large financial services IT/Security internal audit department, or equivalent IT/Security audit experience to include top tier firm (Big 4, Protiviti, etc.) 2 yearsâ?? experience leading end–to–end engagements as the Auditor–in–Charge (AIC) and/or leadership experience within the information technology or security fields Demonstrated knowledge of internal controls, business and information technology risks (focus on cyber security risk and controls evaluations) and/or audit techniques in a large financial services organization Demonstrated knowledge and practical experience of cyber security technologies including firewall, IDS/IPS, DLP, Proxies, anti–malware, CASB, email security, remote access, security baseline, SIEM, PKI, data encryption/tokenizationâ??? In depth knowledge of industry frameworks utilized for cyber security (NIST, ISO, etc) Demonstrated knowledge of the regulatory environment for relevant industry Advanced knowledge of Cyber Security, IT application controls, ITGCs, Mobile, Virtualization, WebSphere as well as IT infrastructure including databases, networks, operating systems Experience with audit engagement support tools including electronic workpapers Exceptional communication and project management skills Preferred designations include CISA (Certified Information Systems Auditor), CISSP (Certified Information Security Systems Professional), or other relevant business designations The above description reflects the details considered necessary to describe the principal functions of the job and should not be construed as a detailed description of all the work requirements that may be performed in the job.
