TheTiming and Frequencydivision at Trimble develops embedded devices that provide high precision timing signals for wireline and wireless networks. We provide industry-leading solutions using our products based on GNSS, PTP, NTP, and other state-of-the-art protocols and technologies. We are currently working on the next generation of products to address the needs of the evolving 5G standards and industry adoption of new wireless network technologies.

Embedded-- As a worldwide leader in GPS technology, Trimble provides GPS boards, modules, chipsets, and technology licenses to major, tier-one automobile and electronics manufacturers around the world. In addition, Trimble is a trusted supplier of innovative, high-performance embeddable products for the United States Department of Defense and other military customers worldwide. Our customers use Trimble components and technology to add positioning functionality to their business, consumer, and military products, including automotive navigation systems, PDAs and cell phones, vehicle location and security systems, instrumentation systems, and a variety of military-specific equipment and systems. Trimble offers a full range of GPS software license products ranging from pure software GPS to GPS Navigation Engines running on industry-leading GPS Chipsets.

Job Summary

We are currently looking for a full-time Manager, FP&A for our Sunnyvale, CA office within the Autonomy Sector. A successful divisional Finance leader acts as the CFO/financial strategy thought leader for a Division. They act as if they own the company. Leadership is defined as articulating and driving towards a defined model and end game. Management of the model is defined as the production of the numbers & the financial execution towards the achievement of the model.


  • Financial planning, analysis & forecasting
  • Identify risks and opportunities
  • Facilitate cross-functional coordination of budgeting, forecasting, reporting, and business performance improvement efforts
  • Lead the strategic planning process and long term financial, acquisition, and investment modeling
  • Functional/business analytics support
  • Partner with functional leaders to develop meaningful monthly and annual business metrics, operational scorecards, reports, and decision support analysis
  • Analyze COGS, pricing, inventory, product/category margin, capital expenditures, product mix, or other key business drivers to quantify projected impact or opportunities
  • ROI analysis of marketing, product, cost savings or promotion initiatives
  • Conduct analysis and modeling of business development opportunities (e.g., acquisitions, new locations or remodels, partnerships, etc.)
  • Month-end close and quarter-end close and corresponding compliance and disclosure requirement
  • Participate and/or lead system improvements projects
  • Able to travel up to 25% domestically and internationally

Qualifications and Education Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree required, (Preferred major Finance, Accounting or related business degree)
  • Experience serving as a financially strategic business partner to division or segment leadership
  • Mastery-level MS Office skills (Excel, Word, and PowerPoint)
  • Business acumen - strong business analysis and judgment, and ability to understand cost/value equations
  • Self-starter who is inquisitive, ambitious, driven and operates with high-energy
  • Experienced in the use of metrics/scorecards to measure and manage performance across functions
  • Effective written communication, presentation skills, and influencing skills both internally and externally.
  • Planning and prioritization skills including project management background
  • Comfort and ability to work well in a collaborative results-oriented team environment that requires interpersonal skills
  • Personal and professional values and goals aligned with company values and culture including a demonstrated passion for the business and customers

Preferred Experience & Education:
  • 3+ years of experience in a financial management role
  • Experience within high-tech growing environment
  • MBA
  • Experience Oracle ERP skills a plus
