Job Description

The Commodity Risk Management team within the Global Procurement Finance function plays a critical role in consolidating, analyzing, forecasting, and reporting commodity inflation and spend results across all regions and lines of business to Senior Management and the Board of Directors and providing forward-looking guidance on commodity markets impacting PepsiCo. The team works closely with corporate functions, business units, and procurement experts in understanding the drivers of commodity spend and inflation within ingredient and packaging (corn, sugar, aluminium, etc.) that are essential to PepsiCo's worldwide snack and beverage product portfolio (Pepsi, Frito Lay, Tropicana, Quaker Oats, etc.).

The Commodity Risk Management function has an immediate opening for an intelligent, qualified and highly-motivated candidate for a unique opportunity. The candidate will act as a key hub for understanding Global Commodity markets and how trade policy, weather, and other external forces affect them. The candidate will enhance and maintain complex models, processes, and analyses to ensure the quality and timeliness of commodity market outlooks. Additionally, the candidate will play a critical role in collaborating with procurement and business finance teams around the world, including corporate functions such as Planning, Treasury, Control and Investor Relations.

  • The Coordinate with multiple stakeholders across all geographies, including procurement experts, Market Supply Officers, Business Planning teams, Corporate FP&A, Corporate Control, Risk Management and Treasury to consolidate and analyze commodity market outlooks
  • Develop models and processes that facilitate advanced technical and fundamental analyses of financial markets
  • Monitor key market trade news, modeling impacts on PepsiCo based on trade flow exposure
  • Ensure accurate and timely creation of management reports, dashboards and executive presentations
  • Work with procurement and planning teams across all PepsiCo businesses to enhance raw material inflation and spend forecasting, and develop/improve other related processes
  • Partner with Global Planning lead to deliver team objectives as needed
  • Provide expertise in quantitative analyses, including variance and risk/opportunity scenarios
  • Understand and synthesize impacts of global gov't policies on trade flows and their potential impact to PepsiCo procurement
  • Work closely with finance, procurement and IT teams on defining, developing and implementing global information systems to support processes
The candidate will have the opportunity to develop a strong knowledge of commodity markets and how they impact commodity inflation and spend in PepsiCo. She/he will interact with clients across the snack and beverage businesses worldwide, gaining significant exposure to the company's lines of business and Senior Management. To be successful, the candidate must be extremely driven, have an eye for detail, deliver results within deadlines while balancing multiple priorities, and be prepared to work in a fast-paced and evolving environment.

Qualifications / Requirements

  • MBA or CFA preferred
  • 5-7 years of experience in financial planning, consulting or banking
  • Strong analytical abilities and excellent excel and financial modeling skills
  • Track record of improving processes, leading projects and influencing decision-makers
  • Comfort dealing with ambiguity and flexibility to manage competing priorities
  • Strong interpersonal skills when working with both junior and senior personnel
  • Focused, career-minded, eager to learn and deliver results
  • Proficiency in Excel, PowerPoint, Essbase and Outlook
