Job Description

Provide financial guidance and operational accounting support to NUS's Administrative departments.

Duties and Responsibilities

Key contact person in all financial matters for selected Administrative departments. Main duties and responsibilities will include: -
  • Provide financial advice, guidance and operational support in accounting and other financial matters.
  • Review and strengthen internal controls of the departments' processes to better support the University's growth initiatives and strategies.
  • Review departments' account structure, financial operations to streamline work processes and improve operational efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Approver roles for finance functions such as payments, accounts receivables, journals etc.
  • Provide the necessary support to departments in the implementation of internal audit recommendations where applicable.
  • Review validity of the departments' financials such as balance sheet accounts and debtors aging reports.
  • Provide management information and insights of the departments' financials.
  • Liaise with auditors for certification audits to be submitted to grantors.
  • Participate in special projects, system implementation and other assignments as may be directed from time to time.

  • Qualifications

  • Possess a recognized degree in Accountancy, CPA/CA preferred.
  • 2-3 years of working experience, preferably in a multi-national corporation and/or audit firm will be an advantage.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications and working knowledge of SAP S4 Hana.
  • Possess excellent analytical, problem-solving, communication and strong interpersonal skills.
  • High level of independence as well as the maturity and ability to work with staff at all levels.
