The Sr. Analyst - Bookings Operations position at VMware requires an individual who demonstrates the ability to learn new business concepts in support of a team's objective. Ideal candidates are analytical, process oriented, energetic, and enjoy working in a high growth, data and operationally driven environment. He or she should have a strong business understanding, good verbal and written communication skills, and advanced Excel and data manipulation skills
  • Acquire knowledge of end to end process of Bookings and Manual Adjustments
  • Understanding of VMW Bookings policy
  • Partner with cross functional teams on company-wide initiatives to ensure programs are in adherence to the worldwide Bookings Policy
  • Understand the processing of License, Professional Services Organization (PSO), SDP & Renewals orders
  • Drive business calls, handle multiple stakeholders and be accountable to senior management by producing/maintaining accurate data
  • Assist in integrating newly acquired companies' revenue into the Bookings system
  • Own and drive End to End testing for Bookings Ops Change Requests
  • Drive steady improvements and automation of current processes and reports with a focus to drive innovative analysis
  • Deliver quality output with an attention to detail
  • Understand impact of the order process and adjustments to downstream teams such as Finance, Sales commissions etc.
  • Bachelor's Degree in Finance
  • 5 to 5 years' experience in software industry and Enterprise SaaS quote to cash operations
  • Proficiency with Oracle Order to Cash modules and Microsoft SQL Server via SQL
  • Ability to communicate clearly and concisely both verbally and in writing
  • Willingness to work outside normal office hours, including some evenings and overnight, as per business requirements, specifically during VMware's quarter closes
  • Systems oriented with strong analytical and database skills for data retrieval and analysis
  • Experience in a business intelligence reporting systems and proficiency in business intelligence visualization tools such as Tableau is a plus
  • Strong MS Excel skills
  • Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills
  • Experience with bookings, commissions and revenue recognition a plus
  • Experience providing internal customers solutions that produce results
  • Ability to initiate process improvement plans and drive for change
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively with cross functional teams
Preferred Attributes:
  • Experience in Enterprise SaaS Quote to Cash operations
  • Strong reporting or analytical skills
  • Proficiency in Oracle and SQL
  • Bachelor's Degree in Finance
  • Strong communication - verbal and written
