Your new company
Located an hour and a half away from Perth, this regional council is looking to recruit a temporary Finance Manager to cover leave. This will be a 3-month contract with drive-in-drive-out opportunities.

Your new role
In your new role, you will have 15 direct reports and report directly to the CEO. You will be responsible for:

  • Reviewing the preparation of monthly, quarterly and annual financial reports for presentation to Council in compliance with statutory provisions and Council Policy
  • Preparing the Annual Budget in consultation with other department heads.
  • Responsibility for reviewing internal processes, and performing internal audits on a regular basis
  • Supervision of Finance staff
  • The compliance of Council's accounting practices with the Local Government Act 1995 and other associated Regulations.

What you'll need to succeed
To be successful for this role, you will have:
  • Prior experience in the duties listed above
  • CPA/CA or equivalent qualification
  • Strong background in people management
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Prior experience in Local Government is highly desirable - prior experience working in regional offices also considered.
