Job Description

About the role

Reporting to the Regional Financial Controller with a dotted line to the Regional CFO, the Financial Controller ANZ controls all aspects of corporate accounting, accounting operations, financial reporting and internal control activities for Australia and New Zealand.

You will drive ongoing improvements by working closely with the CFO, Leadership team, Commercial and Supply Chain Finance teams, and be the point of contact for WHQ controllership to ensure all global accounting standards are met. A proven leader, you will provide strong guidance to your team to drive best practice and readiness for future projects.

Leading key controllership projects with cross-functional teams, you will optimize financial processes/dashboards and enhance systems, allowing a robust analytical framework and best practices in region.

This position is based in Southbank, Melbourne.

About you
  • Extensive experience in FMCG/Manufacturing managerial Finance roles (e.g. Financial Controller, Assistant Financial Controller, Accounting Manager, Finance Manager etc), or Senior Management experience within Big 4 & Mid-Tier consulting firms
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting/Finance or related discipline, and CA/CPA qualification
  • Strong leadership skills with demonstrated experience coaching, delegating, and being hands-on where required
  • Excellent interpersonal and collaboration skills, with strong ability to influence senior stakeholders
  • Compelling 'story telling' presentation skills
  • Solid working knowledge of US GAAP, IFRS, Tax principles and SOX compliance
  • Solid working knowledge of ERP and BI tools
  • Strong knowledge of statutory accounting / tax regulation
