Assistant Accountant

As an organisation that is currently experiencing significant positive change, including a brand new corporate head office and internal restructures which have created space for an Assistant Accountant.

The role will be accountable for supporting the Finance function including the Chief Financial Officer, contracts management and projects assistants.

This diverse and developing role will give the right candidate the opportunity to take charge of their career and contribute to the business change. The role responsibilities will be:

• Supporting the Group Accountant to prepare: Weekly Snapshot Reports, Monthly Financial Reports and End-of-Financial Year Financial Report
• Supporting the Group Accountant and Accounts Payable Officer to prepare: Daily Cash-Flow Inputs, Weekly Cash-Flow Review and Monthly Banking and Cash-Flow Management Reporting
• Preparing General Ledger Accounts and Investigations into Account Movements. Key Accounts include: Fuel Levy Analysis, Freight Warranties and Bank Reconciliations
• Preparation of the following Tax and Compliance Reporting: Monthly BAS / IAS Lodgements, ASIC Lodgements and ABS Surveys
• Preparation of accounting general ledger journals as directed by the Group Accountant
• Maintaining the company contract and key document management system
• Providing Back-up Support for the Finance and Administration Teams, includes: Credits Processing, Expense Payment Processing and Payroll Processing

To be considered for the role, candidates must meet the following requirements:

• Bachelor Accounting / Commerce (Desirable)
• 3 - 4 years Australian Accounting experience (Commerce or Professional Services)
• Must be Permanent Australian Resident or Australian Citizen
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
