The Data Acquisition and Special Projects Innovation Director is a senior level management position responsible for contributing to the strategic direction of IA Innovation, in coordination with senior stakeholders in the business and the Audit teams. This role has overall responsibilities for the long-term strategic efforts in obtaining data from all products and functions in the business in accordance with Citi standards and policies; and to partner with respective Chief Auditors to execute Innovation projects in support of critical reviews. This role will report directly to the Innovation Chief Auditor.
Responsibilities:
  • Oversee and execute all data acquisition activities for the Innovation team
  • Manage new requests for data sources in support of solution development
  • Coordinate the plan for receiving data for long-term sustainability of continuous auditing and solution executions, including all required information security requirements
  • Liaise between senior stakeholders, the data owners, Innovation solution owners, and Information Security Officers, as needed
  • Manage team to lead special projects that are not within the planned Innovation Book of Work, working with Audit teams to address emerging risks and to prioritize initiatives requiring a quick response
  • Oversee and manage activities relating to all Innovation technology platforms and applications, ensuring technical environments are controlled and meet QA and Citi technology standards
  • Improve the identification, measurement, management, reporting and controls in governance, risk and control environments
  • Oversee various tasks to build the audit team, including recruiting staff, developing and training the team, and managing the budget
  • Appropriately assess risk when business decisions are made, demonstrating particular consideration for the firm's reputation and safeguarding Citigroup, its clients and assets, by driving compliance with applicable laws, rules and regulations, adhering to Policy, applying sound ethical judgment regarding personal behavior, conduct and business practices, and escalating, managing and reporting control issues with transparency, as well as effectively supervise the activity of others and create accountability with those who fail to maintain these standards.
Qualifications:
  • Solid experience in a related role
  • Extensive technical, programming and databases skills
  • Ability to understand business processes and related risks and controls, and oversee a team to develop innovative audit analytics based upon audit needs
  • Ingenuity in enhancing client support through innovative use of analytics.
  • Related certifications (CPA, ACA, CFA, CIA, CISA or similar) preferred
  • Demonstrated success in business, functional and people management
  • Consistently demonstrates clear and concise written and verbal communication
  • Demonstrated ability to remain unbiased in a diverse working environment
  • Effective negotiation skills
Education:
  • Bachelor's degree/University degree or equivalent experience
  • Master's degree preferred.
