Our friendly, professional and driven finance team in Glasgow are looking for a Business Banking Assistant to join them.

Supporting the Management Accountant with preparing, developing and analysing key information.

You will provide a high quality service, effectively partnering with the business to deliver critical and highly accurate information.
Your role:
  • Prepare journals, pre-payments, accruals and re-allocations. This is part of our standard month-end process for 2 of our key divisions.
  • Analyse Profit & Loss and Balance Sheets to find mis-postings, correcting if necessary. You'll need handle month-end control accounts and reconciliations for various balance sheets too.
  • Liaise with auditors, deal with bonus accruals and monitor them against budgets. We will rely on you to be confident in challenging us when you think something isn't right, you're our expert.
  • Work with our off-shore processing team to control the posting of our month end journal transactions.
  • Use your excellent interpersonal skills to build effective relationships within the business. Speaking with Finance Business Partners, other teams and Management Accounts to provide support for queries as they arise.


Your Skills, Experience and Qualifications:
  • With a University degree in the relevant field, and experience of working within a finance role post-graduation.
  • Proficient in using a computer and accounting software, especially Microsoft Excel and if you have experience using JD Edwards, Concur and SoX that would be a real benefit.
  • Comfortable when handling balance sheet reconciliations at both complexity and volume.
  • Outstanding attention to detail, strong communication skills and can problem solve with ease.
  • With substantial accounting experience in a busy, forward-thinking and tightly managed business, you can work on the instruction of a manager but thrive under your own initiative!
  • Practical experience of how to prioritise your workload and plan ahead, you're comfortable when multi-task and managing multiple competing priorities.
  • Eligible to work in the UK.
