Your role at a glance

We're looking for a Fund Accounting Manager with previous property and line management experience to sit within Operations to manage our property fund. You'll be joining the team at an exciting time as we continue to build out the future operating model and standardise reporting across the fund ranges. You'll be managing fund valuations and accounting, managing a small team of fund accountants and supervisors, whilst also supporting the future development of the operating model. What you'll be doing

  • Proactively manage a team of Fund Accountants and Supervisors to provide fund accounting, fund valuation and financial control services to a portfolio of funds
  • Perform daily, weekly, monthly and quarterly fund valuation and accounting, and complete and review VAT and property tax returns
  • Perform reviews of primary accounting records, ensuring controls and procedures are followed managing the resolution of complex issues
  • Represent the team and department in a professional, collaborative, and commercially aware manner sharing best practice, enhancing operational effectiveness and creating awareness of issues throughout the department
  • Ensure effective internal controls activities are operating and proactively identify any control gaps or risks, and ensure that risk management monitoring sytems up to date
  • Proactively review, identify and implement efficient process enhancements to ensure the client service provided is of the highest standard to all fund stakeholders (internal and external)
  • Work collaboratively with outsourced service providers to ensure service provision supports business requirements, and monitor and oversee the work of third party service providers of accounting information
  • Provide accounting policy advice and work collaboratively to produce technical accounting policy notes (as required)
  • Robust management and implementation of projects/initiatives


What we're looking for

  • Strong property investment industry knowledge/experience is essential, with UK GAAP and IFRS Financial reporting and Real Estate VAT knowledge
  • Qualified (ACA, ACCA or CIMA) or equivalent experience is essential
  • Proven experience of managing a team, with strong leadership and people management skills
  • Strong excel skills, with the ability to interpret financial data quickly and accurately
  • Ability to successfully influence internally and externally stakeholders at all levels to achieve objectives
  • Experience of challenging historic working practices and delivering process improvements, with experience of managing and delivering within a changing environment
  • Collaborative, focused and personalised approach to service commitment, delivery and continuous improvement
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, proactive, with a positive, enthusiastic approach
  • Disciplined, analytical, highly organised, with the ability to work to tight deadlines
