Grade 8: £41,526 - £49,533 per annum (with discretionary range to £51,034 - £54,131) per annum Applications are invited for a highly motivated Compliance and Assurance Manager, to work for the Mahidol-Oxford Tropical Medicine Research Unit (MORU). MORU is a 40-year-old collaboration between Mahidol University (Thailand), the Wellcome Trust and the University of Oxford. Patient-centred research is the core of MORU's activities. Geographically dispersed across 5 research units and 50 sites across Asia and Africa, our integrated, highly collaborative, flexible network lets MORU address global and regional health problems such as drug resistant infections, malaria and critical illness.

You will be responsible for monitoring compliance to regulations, policies, procedures, and providing assurance to managers. This will mainly involve examining compliance to the network partnerships' policies and procedures. However, the role may also require compliance to laws and standards and research funder terms to be assessed.

The compliance and assurance activities will range across both financial and non-financial aspects of the network. However, the main areas of activities are currently expected to be focused on the following: Compliance to financial policies and procedures. Developing risk management processes. Ensuring the maintenance and continued development of the network's Quality Assurance systems.

You will have a relevant first degree and professional certification, in business administration, law or accounting. Previous experience of delivering a broad range of compliance and risk management activities in a flexible and adaptable way. Ability to deliver a credible, effective compliance service to the network and maintain strong relationships across a diverse staff group. Ability to plan and deliver work with a minimum of direct supervision. Ability to carefully and accurately analyse significant amounts of information and identify compliance risks.
