Overview
SMBC is seeking a Vice President, Accounting Policy Specialist. HE/SHE will be one of the technical accounting resources for SMBC NY Branch, SMBC Americas Holdings, Inc. and its U.S. subsidiaries (including a broker dealer, lessor entities, swap dealer, commercial bank, etc.).
Responsibilities
Prepare & update U.S. GAAP & IFRS accounting policies
Transaction Review & Accounting Analysis
Emerging Guidance Tracking, Implementation & Presentation
Accounting Research
Financial Statement Review
Attending Industry Meetings / Conferences
Qualifications
CPA (or equivalent), with at least 7 years of public and private accounting experience in financial services working on investment securities, loans, leases and derivatives with at least 3 and a half years of accounting policy experience and 3 and a half years of public accounting experience (accounting advisory or on call experience is preferred) and expertise of U.S. GAAP and knowledge of IFRS (Japanese GAAP is a plus but not required).
