Education / Experience Requirements
Advanced degree in Accounting (Bachelor/ Masters)
CPA or CMA
Proven working experience as an accountant/ senior accountant (7+ years of overall combined accounting and finance experience)
Thorough knowledge of accounting principles and procedures
Experience with Percentage of Completion/Cost to Cost accounting
Experience with creating financial statements
Experience with general ledger functions and the month-end/year end close process
Excellent accounting software (Oracle 12, Discoverer, Excel) user and administration skills
Management/ supervisory experience of 3+ years
Skills and Attributes Requirements
Strong Accounting knowledge (GAAP, IFRS)
Proficient in Percentage of Completion Accounting
Proficient in accounting reconciliation and analysis
Proficiency in accounting tools including Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint and other necessary financial tools
Ability to use report writing software to obtain analytical data required
Team leadership, team building and team participation skills
Planning and Organizational skills
Critical, logical, analytical thinking a must
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Must have excellent work habits, including a willingness to work the hours necessary to get the job done, especially when important deadlines cause greater than normal departmental pressures
What will you be doing?
Job Summary
This position will monitor, maintain, and develop the Project Accounting, Accounts Receivable (AR), and Commission accrual functions and duties to ensure complete and fair representation of related financial statements accounts and disclosures, collaboration with Consolidation, Financial Planning and Analytics, Operations, Treasury, and Tax. The candidate will be responsible for all Project accounting and streamlining processes including reporting, forecasting, and cash management.
Key Tasks and Responsibilities
Developing and maintaining accounting policies and procedures. Review all policies, procedures and work instruction manuals on a regular basis recommending updates to develop and implement best accounting practices
Participate in Planning, organizing and coordinating the year-end close process with internal and external auditors
Preparing financial statements, including cash flow statements
Planning, budgeting and authorizing expenditures
Initiating, processing and recording of accounting entries
Provide comprehensive financial updates to senior management by evaluating, analyzing, and reporting appropriate data points
Oversee and support the accounting team with dynamic leadership that creates an environment of trust and productivity
Training and retaining competent accounting staff
Protect integrity and ethics of the corporate financial
Provide Accounting support for business combinations by
Supporting GL/AP in all opening balance sheet activities (testing/ review financial data etc.)
Reviewing financial statement information for accuracy
Convert data to general ledger system
Obtain supplementary information verifying prepared financial statements
Assistance in any other accounting areas as delegated by Advanced Solutions Controller
Monitor, assign, and/or work requests from other departments.
