Position Overview:
Assists the Director of Finance by performing routine and non-routine finance functions, and supports management planning and decision making by identifying, maintaining, and evaluation information; recommending actions.
Essential Functions:
a) Develop and refine internal reporting capabilities, maintain reporting on financial and statistical metrics
b) Lead the annual budget process and maintain forecasting models
c) Identify opportunities for productivity and sustainability improvement
d) Present and communicate results to leadership teams
e) Work with internal teams to understand and explain trends and variances in operations
f) Assist with ad-hoc reporting and analysis on strategic projects
g) Utilize financial modeling skills for projections and forecasting data including statistical, financial, and KPIs to help Senior Leadership with strategic decision-making
h) Assist with preparation of work papers for audit, Medicare Cost Report, and other regulatory reporting
i) Performs routine and non-routine accounting functions as assigned.
j) Other tasks as assigned
Physical Demands and Working Conditions:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to see, talk and hear. The employee frequently is required to sit and use hands along with fingers, to handle or feel. The employee is occasionally required to stand, walk, reach with hands and arms, climb or balance, and stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl.
Qualifications & Skills:
a) Education: Bachelor's degree in business with emphasis in Accounting preferred.
b) Training & Experience: Three years prior financial experience, strong healthcare experience preferred.
c) Superior analytical and problem-solving skills, and the ability to turn data into information and present concise analyses.
d) Appreciation for data integrity and clear process definitions.
e) Ability to think beyond the numbers must be able to see connections between financials and business drivers.
f) Demonstrated ability to be detail oriented with respect to ensuring deadlines are met.
g) Ability to manipulate and model large volumes of data and interpret results.
h) Ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously.
i) Self-motivated with the ability to work independently or in a team effectively.
j) Job Knowledge: Analytical ability, familiar with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles, working knowledge of Microsoft computer software programs, 10-key by touch, ability to work well with other departments.
