As the Finance Manager you will be responsible for the effective and successful management and leadership of Finance for the NJS business, which includes overseeing the efficient and timely management of daily/weekly/monthly/annual financial results, providing insights into drivers of financial performance of the business, input to strategic plans and high level financial advice to management, ensuring a sound internal control system is in operation.

The Finance Manager will also play an integral role in ensuring an effective relationship with Qantas Group Finance teams and will assist in setting of budgets and forecasts and supporting strategic initiatives in line with Group objectives.

You'll have:
  • The experience to manage the business unit budget, plan and forecasting to support effective business planning
  • Demonstrated experience conducting financial analysis and benchmarking to assess and drive improved performance
  • The knowledge to provide commercial insight and strategic support to the business unit to support achievement of financial targets and key business priorities
  • Strategic insight to provide financial analysis, interpretation of variances from budgets and standards and performs appropriate reporting in order to advise management
  • Experience managing the implementation of risk management, fraud detection and governance frameworks and controls
  • The ability to act as a single point of contact for the employees and managers in the business unit for financial management and complex financial issues in order to facilitate sound financial decision making
  • Advanced communication skills and ability to build constructive relationships with management, peers and 3rd party providers
  • Strong leadership skills to provide coaching and mentoring to the team to ensure their growth, development and performance in financial matters
  • High level financial analysis skills and natural commercial acumen;
  • Demonstrated self-motivation, initiative, innovation and excellent leadership skills
