Job FunctionsBooks Management – Responsible for maintaining, implementing books of accounts according to US GAAP and relevant US Government and DoD contracting requirements. Must have prior work experience in managing accounts for an entity that is involved in US DoD related work (preferably Engineering services).Invoice accounting – The candidate is expected to account all the invoices raised within the month–end book closure. The candidate should have the knowledge on unearned revenue and unbilled revenue. The candidate is also expected to liaison with a 3rd party accounting vendor.Accounts Receivable – The candidate must follow up with customers on the payments not receivedVendor Management – The candidate will be involved in vendor selection. The candidate is expected to be diligent in the selection process and adhere to the policies of the company. The candidate must work in tandem with the other department heads in the selection process. Maintain records of all vendors in an organized system and ensure vendor invoices are paid in a timely manner.Expense Management – The candidate must account all the bills that are received and perform analysis on the bills received in relation to the contractual agreement. Should have prior experience in calculating depreciation and passing entries in the books.Payroll – The candidate should be able to handle accounting of payroll and ensure timely disbursal of salaries. Should be able to handle statutory compliances and file monthly/quarterly/yearly returns.Provisions – The candidate should have experience in handling expense provisions and is expected to take responsibility at the time of joining. Month–end provisions should be accounted in timely manner without any expense getting missed.Month–end Reporting – The candidate should have handled month–end reporting activities such as sales report, expense report, preparing MIS's. Should be able to understand the expectation of the management and should be able to handle ad–hoc reporting. Should have maturity in the thought process and present analytical skills. The candidate is expected to adhere to strict timelines.Compliance and Auditing – The candidate should have working knowledge on monthly/yearly compliance. State and federal taxation rules.
