Main Role (overall responsibility and accountability):

The Senior Accountant Officer of MC will be responsible for all accounting and financial management activities of the funds and ensure that all financial management aspects of all public and private mutual funds offered by MC are conducted & managed adequately. Also will be responsible for all Tax/VAT returns.

Principal Responsibilities and Accountabilities:

  • Fund accounting


    • Be responsible for all financial management, accounting and control activities relating to all mutual funds offered by MC.
    • Be responsible and ensure that all matters relating to funds accounting are performed appropriately and that financial reporting is accurate and done in a timely fashion.
    • Ensure that the monthly funds accounts, the monthly statements, annual accounts, and any other financial information requested by the Board, , Regulators and/or Audit and Compliance are prepared and disseminated as required.
    • Compile and manage the funds VAT & T&Cs.
    • Ensure that all funds costs are properly managed, authorized, and invoices are accurate and paid with in a timely fashion. Manage all funds service providers’ services, payments and dues.
    • Be responsible for the monthly quarterly, half yearly and annual funds financial statements and auditing exercise and be the point contact for managing the funds’ external auditors. Ensure audited funds financial statements are produced by the auditors on time and disseminate them to various stakeholders.
    • Responsible for all funds financial regulatory reporting among other required reporting requirements.
    • Ensure, accurate capture, processing and record keeping of Net Assets Values, distributions, and other fund accounting output for subsequent review.
    • Record accurately, and in accordance with the asset management policies and procedures, such accounting records as securities positions, corporate actions related, and journal entries.
    • Supervise all interactions with third parties like administrators, custodians, sub managers etc… ensure all charges, fees and revenue shared or to be received is accurately and appropriately captured and recorded.
    • Supervise the preparation, dissemination of all assigned, in preparing audit schedules, compliance reports, monthly and routine returns, financial statements, or other reports.
    • Prepare MIS and related reports related to funds.
    • Perform and be responsible for any other task or role which is reasonably required from the CEO, CFO.


    2. Operational activities:

    • Ensure all business units are adequately supported in terms of Fund’s Back office functions
    • Respond to requests from the management on information about the fund’s performance and provide the required information on a timely basis.
    • Co-ordinate with the CMA examiners, Internal and External auditors on the audit and periodical examination of funds and other related functions.
    • Interact with the other divisions within the organization on functions related to funds - Back Office.
    • Initiate, develop and co-ordinate Information Technology issue to improve the overall efficiency and functioning of the funds Back office.
    • Periodically review the business growth and initiate the steps for manpower planning.


    Monthly salary range : SR 15 – 20 K.
