Our client is seeking an advanced Excel user and experienced Part Qualified Financial Analyst to join their Finance team in Abingdon.

Description

The Financial Analyst responsibilities will include:

  • Take an active role in the development and testing of new financial models
  • Support the wider finance team in the enhancement of business and reporting processes
  • Support the existing financial function in developing/refining meaningful and accurate reporting to a variety of shareholders and internal stakeholders in a timely manner
  • Take an active role in the development of key financial software and lead on testing software prior to use by the wider business
  • Maintenance of various Excel based financial models
  • Analysis and ad-hoc reporting on AR and AP, supporting the Margin Accountant
  • Responsible for various month/quarter end analysis tasks
  • Working alongside the finance teams and wider operational team to produce reports when required
  • Take an active role in business planning meetings and provide the relevant reporting to give the commercial information to the decision makers
  • Preparation monthly/quarterly/yearly forecasts and reforecasts.
  • Take an active role in the development and testing of new financial models and systems
  • Review of project information to ensure latest information is available and accurately reflected in the financial reporting
  • Support projects with analysis of costs, comparing them to budget and updating project valuations as required
  • Provide support in the development, implementation, and maintenance of financial KPIs
  • Other ad-hoc duties as required. As a small and innovative team we expect the role to develop and grow over time

Profile

The successful Financial Analyst will be:

  • Experienced with financial analysis and modelling
  • Highly advanced Excel user
  • Actively studying for an accountancy qualification - ACCA/CIMA
  • Has worked on Financial Systems projects previously
  • Experience in month-end reporting

The individual will need to have:

  • A strong focus and pragmatic approach to problem solving
  • Able to interpret both quantitative and qualitative data regarding projects
  • Analytical nature
  • High level of accuracy and attention to detail
  • Keenness to learn and develop their skills further

Job Offer

The salary on offer to the Financial Analyst is in the range of £35,000 - £40,000 dependent upon level of experience and qualification. A study package is on offer for the successful individual.
