Payroll officer position

Client Details

My client are a well-established FMCG brand in the of Bedford. They are currently looking for a motivated and dedicated individual to join their busy Payroll team as a Payroll Officer. The role will be best suited for someone with a few years payroll experience who's looking to take the next step in their career and take on a new challenge.


Key responsibilities for the Payroll Officer based in the Bedford:

  • Processing hourly, weekly & monthly payrolls
  • Processing new starters, leavers, bonuses etc
  • Liaising with HMRC and following all correct legislation
  • Submitting tax and NI
  • Processing year end payroll
  • Dealing with any payroll queries in an effective and professional manner
  • Ensuring all duties are carried out in line with company policy and HMRC legislation
  • Reporting to the Payroll Manager
  • Any ad-hoc duties that may be required


The successful candidate for the Payroll Officer in Bedford will:

  • Have 3+ years experience in a busy payroll environment
  • Have experience with end-to-end payroll
  • Ideally have experience with manual calculations
  • Be an organised individual
  • Be familiar working to tight deadlines
  • Have excellent analytical skills
  • Have a positive 'can-do' attitude
  • Be a good team player, as well as the ability to work well individually
