The Colonial First State business is a wholly owned subsidiary within the Commonwealth Bank of Australia Group.

This role is within Colonial First State (CFS) and sits within the Fund Services Division. Fund Services has 200 staff and is responsible for the production and provision of Fund Data to Asset Managers, accurate unit pricing for CFS products and other internal clients and accurate accounting for investment and taxation data. The area is broken down into the following areas.

  • Operational Risk Management
  • Interfunding

The Investment Accounting team is responsible for delivering accurate unit pricing, accounting and taxation information. The Investment Accounting Team acts a central point of contact for ASB Wealth and Insurance division and The Trustee of Commonwealth Bank Group Super.

Do work that matters:

As an Investment Accountant, you will calculate timely and accurate unit prices, tax and maintain the underlying accounting records for allocated products.

CBA has entered into an agreement with KKR to sell a 55% interest in its CFS superannuation and investments business for total cash consideration of $1.7billion (implying a total valuation of $3.3billion). CBA will retain a 45% shareholding in CFS.

The sale is expected to complete in the first half of 2021. As this is a role to work in the CFS business, the successful candidate will initially be employed by the CBA Group but on sale completion, their employment will transfer to a new entity that will employ the CFS business employees from completion.
