Our Financial Planning and Analysis (FP&A) team plays a critical role in providing strategic partnership to leaders across Charles River Development. We achieve this through effectively engaging with our partners to understand our broad strategy, analyzing data, and delivering insights to help drive CRD’s current and future performance.

The team you will be joining is a part of Charles River Development (or CRD), that became a part of State Street in 2018. CRD helps create enterprise investment management software solutions for large institutions in the areas of institutional investment, wealth management and hedge funds. Together we have created first open front-to-back platform - State Street Alpha, that was launched in 2019.

What you will be responsible for

The Senior Financial Analyst is responsible for delivering insights to senior executives regarding CRD’s performance. The incumbent is accountable for providing analytical support and timely and accurate reporting of financial performance. Developing complex financial models and comparing and analyzing data accuracy, inconsistencies, trends and significant variances; researching or verifying data integrity as needed. The incumbent will prepare financial materials and perform analysis for a variety of complex processes supporting budgeting, forecasting and long term financial modeling and planning of a global technology organization.

As the Sr. Financial Analyst- FP&A you will

  • Develop financial models and scenario analysis to support valuation, planning, and forecasting.
  • Assist in managing the annual planning/budget process.
  • Assist in developing short and long-term forecasting capabilities.
  • Develop KPIs and models to forecast future revenue, expense, headcount
  • Provide deep financial analysis focused on a variety of areas such as maximizing profitability or resource allocation
  • Drive results by partnering on business-related projects such as modeling business scenarios and tracking performance metrics
  • Own the forecast and provide insightful analysis to highlight variance drivers and identify opportunities to mitigate risk / improve performance
  • Identify and lead initiatives to continuously improve, standardize and automate forecasting and reporting tools and processes
  • Support the annual budgeting and monthly forecasting processes, including detailed analytics and financial recommendations related to the assumption and goal setting process.
  • Produce and/or enhance internal management reporting and analyses both on a regularly scheduled and ad-hoc basis.
  • Perform periodic operational and financial reporting and analysis.
  • Perform analysis to support the monthly and quarterly metrics reporting process and distribution to key stakeholders.
  • Logically structure complex issues and communicate conclusions and alternatives to a range of senior executives.
  • Research large amounts of data that requires consolidation to allow for concise analysis.
  • Anticipate financial planning needs by providing monthly, quarterly and year-end reporting and analysis as needed.
  • Utilize current documentation and tools/methodologies and recommend new solutions to improve/automate existing and new processes and support new initiatives.

Education & Preferred Qualifications

  • A BA/BS degree required, preferably in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or another related major.
  • A minimum of 3-7 years of progressively responsible experience in business, finance or similar relevant experience.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in a quantitatively-heavy position.
  • Strong fluency with Excel formulas and logic functions.
  • Data driven and detail oriented.
  • Strong quantitative and analytical competency.
  • Self-starter with excellent interpersonal communication as well as written skills.
  • Demonstrated analytical and problem-solving skills a must.
  • Demonstrated ability to interact effectively with senior management.
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written a must
  • Ability to manage multiple, simultaneous priorities.
  • Proven organizational skills with attention to detail.
  • Ability to achieve results without close supervision.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to operate independently and also has the strong desire to work as a member of a team.
  • Demonstrated practical, hands-on, “can-do” approach, and the ability to work efficiently and creatively.
  • Travel is unlikely to be required.
  • Flexibility with schedule and ability to work beyond regular business hours.
