OverviewWaters Corporation is currently searching for a Mechanical Engineer II to join our Instrument Product Group. The Instrument Product Group is responsible for the development and support of Waters core LC Instrument Technologies such as Pump, AutoSampler, Detection, Column Management Platforms. In this role, the individual will put strong technical engineering knowledge and experience into practice while developing analytical instrumentation in a team orientated and collaborative environment. The candidate will work in a multifaceted Engineering Environment utilizing many aspects of Mechanical Engineering (Mechanical Design, Analytical Analysis, Fluid Dynamics, Heat Transfer, Material Science, Optics, Automation, User Centered Interface Design, and System Engineering) and work with Electrical, Software, Reliability, and Production Engineering to develop innovative products.ResponsibilitiesDevelop electromechanical, fluidic, and thermal components and sub–systems from concept to new product introduction.Conduct detailed engineering analyses on components and sub–assemblies.Verify product requirements and define product and design specifications.Develop control logic for electromechanical, fluid and thermal systems. Design precision machined, plastic molded, and cast parts that are critical to function, user interface, or both while ensuring cost effectiveness and manufacturability. Adhere to regulations such as ISO 9001, EN 61010–1, and 21 CFR 820.Interface with Marketing, Reliability, New Product Introduction, Test Engineering, and Service throughout the Development Lifecycle.QualificationsBachelor Degree in Mechanical Engineering (BSME) – RequiredMasters of Science in Mechanical Engineering – DesiredMinimum of 2 Years of Experience in Related Field with BSMEAbility to work in a hands–on environmentExcellent written and oral communication skillsStrong interpersonal skillsExperience with Solid Works or Equivalent ToolExperience with ANSYS or Equivalent ToolExperience with Matlab / Python / or Equivalent ToolCompany DescriptionFor over 50 years, Waters Corporation has developed innovative analytical science solutions to support customer discoveries, operations, performance, and regulatory compliance.
