Job DescriptionThe Legal Aid Society has an opening for a Senior Financial Analyst on the Financial Analysis Team. This position requires very strong analytical skills coupled with advanced technological capabilities in order to create models to provide budgets, monitor spending, analyze cash flow, and forecast program activity related to grants and contracts and to support other modeling needs of the Financial Analysis team. The Senior Financial Analyst must be able to present financial results in a concise and clear manner with tact and diplomacy.ESSENTIAL DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES* Create and maintain complex financial models for budgeting and forecasting needs for grants and contracts* Analyze program activity at a macro level and at a more detailed grant and contract level* Recommend adjustments to spending in order to minimize budget modifications while spending all available funds* Assist in preparation of materials needed for RFPs/applications for grants and contracts.* Active participant in monthly meetings with Practice areas to review actual and projected spending of grants and contracts* Act as a liaison with Practice areas regarding program finance activity* Create and maintain financial models for the Financial Analysis team* Develop, maintain and distribute ad–hoc reports and financial models as needed* Train others in the use of the financial models* Focus on frequent and critical special projects* Automate processes and reporting in order to enhance efficiency of the Billings Operations team* Provide strong technical and analytical support to the Billing Operations team* Acquire, manage, manipulate, and analyze large amounts of data from multiple sources utilizing Excel, other Microsoft Office Suite tools, and other software as needed* Create, change, and modify Financial Edge reporting* Other duties as assigned* REQUIRED DOCUMENTS: Please submit a cover letter and resume as a single PDF when you apply via the LAS Recruitment PortalRequirements* BS in Computer Science, Finance, Accounting, or a related technical field preferred* 5–8 years of relevant work experience * Ability to work independently* Advanced Excel skills and other technologies to enable advanced financial modeling* Strong analytical mind* Excellent oral and written communication skills* Extremely organized and ability to respond to internal and external customer requests* Must be able to meet deadlines* Ability to work well in a team environment* Sense of professionalism and confidentiality, and a strong work ethicOnly PDF documents will be accepted.
