Chief Financial Officer - Healthcare Portfolio Company

Greater New York City Area

The Chief Financial Officer ("CFO") will have primary oversight of the accounting and financial operations of a clinic-based, private equity-backed growth platform in healthcare. The individual in this role will partner with the leadership team in the development of the company's strategic vision and planning, while providing financial advice and counsel on day-to-day operating issues. The CFO will also take the lead role in a significant amount of M&A activity, as the company is positioned for, and already undergoing, rapid growth in 2018 and beyond.

Responsibilities

  • Enhance company's use and adoption of management information, including the development and implementation of key performance indicators and dashboards to encourage thoughtful operational leadership
  • Prepare and issue daily, weekly and monthly financial data and reports for executive leadership, operations and the Board
  • Build an efficient, effective finance and accounting organization capable of scaling with significant organizational growth
  • Oversight of the revenue cycle, including billing and collections
  • Work with internal and external IT resources to help design, implement and manage the IT infrastructure necessary to support the company's growth and operations
  • Hold key role in evaluation, diligence and structuring of a very active M&A initiative
  • Manage long-term budgeting and financial planning processes to ensure they are linked with company strategy and overall business goals
  • Bring financial discipline and rigor; provide the analytical tools and creative, entrepreneurial thinking to help achieve targets
  • Work with the private equity investor to optimize the capital structure of the company to support its growth plans; manage relationships with lenders and other financing sources
  • Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal financial and tax reporting requirements
  • Build and maintain a culture of positivity, accountability, respect and compliance


Qualifications

  • Successful, verifiable track record of improving the profitability and value of a company or business unit as freestanding company CFO or divisional CFO/finance leader
  • Prior experience as CFO of private equity-backed company is preferred
  • Strong analytical and objective approach to decision making, including a demonstrated ability to leverage financial planning and analysis to improve business outcomes
  • Bachelor's degree is required, CPA and/or MBA preferred
  • Healthcare industry experience required; experience in multi-site, clinic-based healthcare is ideal
  • Experience working in a multiple payor environment (including Medicare)
  • A growth champion: financial leadership role in a company that implemented an aggressive and successful M&A program
  • Ability and desire to thrive in a smaller company environment where personal accountability and team management go hand in hand
  • Prior career experience in a reputable training ground environment, whether in Big Four accounting, investment banking, consulting or corporate
  • Experience presenting to, and interacting with boards, banks and financial sponsors
  • Comprehensive knowledge of the dynamics of healthcare reimbursement and experience with multiple payer sources, including government, commercial and private
  • Experience in a private equity backed environment with an appreciation for the smaller company environment which tends to be fast, nimble and resource-constrained as compared to a large corporation
