PROJECT ACCOUNTANT

The Construction and Equipment Division, a part of the J.D. Irving, Limited's group of companies, is a key player in the North American construction industry. With five operating units within the division, the group provides heavy equipment and crane

manufacturing, and steel and fabrication services to its customers.

We are currently accepting resumes for a PROJECT ACCOUNTANT, a full-time position located in Saint John NB. As the successful applicant for this opportunity, you will be
located at Irving Equipment, focusing on the Construction and Equipment Group of
Companies. As a key member of our Finance team, you will hold a CPA Designation, be a skilled-multitasker that is highly motivated and likes to work in a fast-paced team environment. You will be quick on your feet and able to handle challenges as they
arise, while effectively prioritizing your workload.

Qualifications:

-Post-secondary education completion, with 5 or more years of relevant experience
-Chartered Professional Accountant designation
-Strong communications skills, and previous experience working with senior management
-Demonstrated competency in assessing, working through, and resolving issues related to project accounting
-Demonstrated commitment to your ongoing professional development

Key Responsibilities:

The primary function of this role is to provide accurate and timely project accounting functions for Irving Equipment. This will be achieved primarily through:

-Preparing complex project accounting reports and maintaining ledgers for associated costs
-Monitoring, assessing, analyzing, and reviewing project costs and expenditures.
-Preparing weekly and period project reports
-Providing periodic variance reporting requirements
-Responsible for gathering appropriate documentation for internal and external auditors
-Providing support for additional finance functions such as financial analysis, corporate reporting, etc.
-Other ad-hoc requests as required
