The Company

Our client is a well-known business within the NFP industry. The company has been present in Australia for over 70 years. Their services have been consistently regarded as the highest quality in the industry and this position is a key business role that aims to support them in improving their internal analysis, identifying improvement opportunities and maintaining their reputation and service quality standards.

The organizations funding comes 75% from government and 25% in fee for service. The analyst will be required to support analysis on both commercial and government backed contracts and clients.

The Role

Reporting to the Finance Business Partner, the Analyst will play a lead role within a key business unit. They will be responsible for identifying business improvement opportunities and for building visual data to represent trends and performance patterns across their portfolio. They will work with the wider finance team to implement continuous improvements and ensure industry best practices are replicated.

Your responsibilities will include:
  • Prepare, analyze and summarize various weekly and monthly operational results to assist the Finance team to provide accurate, timely and effective performance reports to key stakeholders. This includes corporate reporting and KPI reports.
  • Improve, execute, and effectively communicate significant analyses that identify meaningful trends and opportunities across the finance team and business.
  • Interpret data and analyze results using analytics, research methodologies, and statistical techniques.
  • Identify and lead the delivery of continuous improvement initiatives to improve reporting processes, including developing and improving models and tools to assist in KPI and variance analysis.
  • Assist with transactional accounting requirements as required by the business partner and financial controller.

Your Skills & Experience
  • At least 3 years' experience in a finance capacity.
  • Strong business partnering capabilities.
  • Ability to understand sophisticated accounting and reporting.
  • Advanced Excel experience and basic business intelligence tools understanding.
  • High attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Well-developed organizational skills with the ability to prioritize work effectively, plan for and unfailingly meet reporting deadlines.
