The E-Trading Software, Tech Architecture & Application Risk Manager will be responsible for creating a credible procedure and second line challenge focusing on the technical design, architecture, software design and technical performance of Citi's E-Trading Applications.
Key Responsibilities:
The E-Trading Software, Tech Architecture & Application Risk Manager will play the pivotal role within the Global ET RM team. Key responsibilities will include:
  • Ongoing architecture review of E-Trading's application ensuring fit for purpose and future proof
  • Review and challenge first line capacity planning and high water mark assessments
  • Review and challenge E-Trading Containers and frameworks used in market making, hedging and agency like algorithmic execution
  • Review and challenge E-Trading market data adaptors and publication/consumption mechanisms
  • Review and challenge each E-Trading team's technical implementation of circuit breakers, kill switches, alerting mechanism and trade reconciliation tools
  • The candidate will independently identify and assess inherent operational and systematic risks in Citi's E-Trading technology stack, the suite of control components within that realm, and the acceptability of residual risk.
  • Lead independent risk assessment with respect to comprehensiveness and effectiveness of processes by which MSS Technology provides technology services and products for E-Trading business.
  • Work proactively with Citi's technologists and technology control specialists to analyse technology measures and risk metrics of MSS E-Trading business.
  • The Technology Risk Analyst will work proactively with Citi's technologists and technology control specialists to analyse and challenge emerging technologies before they are deployed into Citi.
  • Working with colleagues in ET RM and the broader Risk organization,, as well as technology, business and other control functions, the ET RM technology lead is expected to contribute to:
    • Governance and Oversight of technology risk that impacts MSS E-Trading And Algo Execution businesses
    • Challenge of business and technology Risk Self-Assessments
    • Challenge of business technology Scenario Analysis
    • Perform internal and external event reviews
    • Control Issue management and oversight and escalation
    • Drive technology risk focus toward a comprehensive set of underlying risks, cyber, process management, fraud, physical access, and other categories -
Qualifications:
  • Extensive years of commercial Java development experience
  • Experience developing low-latency, high performance software in Java
  • Recent experience working within an markets technology team is preferable
  • Self-starting individual with experience of working in a business facing role
  • Experience designing and developing distributed systems using a range of middleware products
  • Experience with technology infrastructure components such as network topology, data storage devices, virtual machine monitors, directory services, database management systems, messaging services, and middleware.
  • Knowledge of security architecture patterns such as Demilitarized Zones, Policy Enforcement Tools, and Segregation of Duties for Change Control, Federated Identity, and Toxic Combinations.
  • Practical experience as a team member in a project or program wherein technology control metrics were devised, delivered, and/or analysed.
  • Knowledge of full system, software, and security development lifecycle, including abuse and misuse cases within development and testing.
  • Working familiarity with data warehousing and big data environments.
  • The E-Trading Tech Risk Manager will be an acknowledged thought leader in E-trading low latency development, E-Trading activities, architecture, infrastructure with 15 years' experience in IT, and a minimum of 10 years of hands-on technical experience in IT development/management, controls and/or information security within globally complex, dispersed and diverse organizations.

  • Strong background in math or financial math, preferably to master level
  • Understanding of computing science fundamentals - concurrency, algorithms, operating systems
  • Team Leadership

  • KDB/Q a plus
  • Distributed Systems Technologies - Messaging, Caching, Database.
  • Process and tools to produce well written low defect rate code, including Dev Ops
  • Quantitative understanding of one or more markets E-Trading business or related areas (HFT activities)
