ABOUT THE INTERNSHIP PROGRAM:

We offer paid, full-time summer internships for many majors, with fulfilling work and opportunities to grow. To help launch your career, we provide dedicated staff mentors. Youll also learn from senior leaders and industry experts. As part of the Federal Reserve System, youll be connected to a professional network that spans the nation. You will begin in early June and will be based in the Dallas office.

ABOUT YOUR TEAM:

The Statistics Department collects information to support the Federal Reserve's monetary policy, economic research, supervision and regulation, and the United States Treasury services responsibilities. Collected data are analyzed to ensure accuracy and compliance with requirements and to identify trends and developments that may have implications for users of the data.
WHAT YOULL DO:
  • Review and edit data to ensure accuracy and identify underlying trends and developments that may have implications for data users
  • As required, research regulatory and accounting guidelines in order to assure respondent compliance with banking policies, regulations and GAAP as they relate to financial reporting
  • Analysis of current reporting processes, procedures & protocols for improvement purposes and/or implementation of new analysis methods related to report review
  • Participates in staff meetings and attends other meetings and trainings, as assigned
WHAT YOU BRING:
  • Background in Business, Accounting, Finance, Economics or related field
  • Strong Computer Science skills with intermediate to advanced skills in MS Word, Excel, and SAS a plus
  • Prior knowledge of principles and practices of the Banking and Financial Industry acquired through coursework and/or practical experience
  • Ability to identify and explain unusual data fluctuation using aggregated data and time series analysis
  • Ability to prepare clearly written explanations of unusual data fluctuations based on respondent feedback, which require no editing by management, and accurately address the reason for the fluctuation and are consistent with reporting instructions, regulations and industry events
  • Equivalent education and/or experience may be substituted for any of the above requirements

WORK HOURS:
Monday Friday, 8:00 a.m. 5:00 p.m. (40 hours/ week). Some additional hours may be required
NOTES:
Employment is contingent upon the selected candidate passing a background check and drug screen. Candidates will be required to submit at least three references and submit fingerprints prior to employment.
