The Role Responsibilities

Strategy
Future of Work
  • Partner with CFO Property and Property to d eliver on the long-term strategy for Future of Work including productivity saves and overall reduction in real estate costs. This covers financial modelling for various scenarios and plans (based on inputs from Property and other stakeholders), review of Property Recharges Policy and the articulation of FoW strategy from a financial perspective. Also involves performing financial review of related property investments and divestments opportunities, from group funding, P&L and balance sheet perspectives.

Business
Supply Partners Management
  • Partner Regional Property Teams and Regional Finance Leads (EA and AME) and CFO Property in the financial review and management of global facilities and asset management contracts, including new contracts and renewals. Also includes on-going review of contract change requests and partnering Property and vendor finance teams on planning requirements and various change management programs.

Processes
Planning Coordination
  • Joint co-ordination of Property budget and forecast submissions circa $840m per annum, including central targets setting for incurred costs and property recharges, managing country bottoms-up submissions and the central cost loading for property recharges (all businesses/functions), property incurred costs, asset sales income and property headcount.
  • Involves partnering with CFO Property Finance, Regional Property Finance Leads, Group Property MT, Regional Heads of Property, Finance Shared Services, FP&A and other Finance Functions to coordinate group planning requirements and respond to related queries from stakeholders.
  • To review the current planning model for greater process efficiencies, further streamlining and aligning country and business inputs with global Property targets and strategies.
Property Recharge Policy
  • Partner Group Property MT and CFO Property to review and implement a new Property Recharge Policy which can better reflect the new office environment when staff return to work. This policy will need careful consideration and socialisation across the Bank given many businesses and functions may be keen to reduce their desk utilisation and property costs.
  • This will also require joint review of alternative systems/ tools should Property's current applications be no longer fit for purpose in the new environment.
Governance
  • To have group oversight on IFRS16 lease accounting process, partnering with country finance teams, Finance Shared Services, Group Technical Accounting Team and Property (including Asset Management outsourced partner CBRE) to ensure overall compliance with accounting policy requirements.
  • To have group oversight of Property investments spend which is currently not under the governance of Group Investment Finance Team, and managed directly by Regional Property Heads.

  • Internal: Group Property, Group Finance, Functions Finance, Country Finance, Finance Shared Services;
  • External: External auditor, Property outsourced vendors and consultants.
