JOB SUMMARY:The Controller will be responsible for the timely delivery of financial services and ensuring fiscal responsibility at all levels for multiple manufacturing plants and corporate functions.The Controller is responsible for multiple internal and external compliance related reporting monthly/quarterly/ yearly and generation of financial statements or as needed.Additionally, the position will work intimately with operations, purchasing and sales teams to provide analysis, financial direction and details. This person, along with the Accounting Managers at plant locations will have responsibility over the accounting department, including payroll, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and banking requirements.The Controller will be a key financial advisor to all managers and leaders of the organization.The successful candidate will be a strategic forward thinker with the ability to effectively execute on multiple deliverables.PRINCIPAL FUNCTIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES:Multi–Site Controller Primary ResponsibilitiesPlans and directs the general and cost accounting functions Woodmont and Grandview manufacturing plants.Works with multiple stakeholders and is responsible for the preparation of the plants and corporate budgets, financial forecasts and report variances.Interacts pro–actively with the Plant Managers, Accounting Managers, Purchasing Managers and Sales & Marketing Managers to analyze financial results and identify factors that would enhance the plant's and company's overall profitability.Works with Accounting Managers and serves as a check and balance for the oversight of the company's accounting functions, payroll and billing activities. Works to ensure these activities are being completed accurately and timely.Ensures compliance and supports Accounting and Operations teams with month–end & yearly closing/reporting activities for the manufacturing plants and corporate.Responsible for ensuring compliance with all local, state, and federal government reporting requirements and tax filingsResponsible for ensuring compliance with all internal Woodmont and Grandview Cabinetry financial policies.Investigates and prepares monthly analyses of the plants' financial results and makes performance improvement recommendations.Develops and documents business processes and financial policies to maintain and strengthen internal controlsProvides strategic direction in developing and implementing strengthened internal control policies and procedures (both systematic and user functional to ensure data integrity and safeguarding of assets), while minimizing manual effort to ensure compliance.Responsible for preparation of AFE project documents and classification as Capital or Expense; monitors spending against approved projects and advises plants and corporate management of variances; performs AFE follow up analysis.Responsible for oversight of plant assets acting in the best interest of responsible stakeholders, while maintaining a professional independence and objectivityOther duties as assigned.ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLSMust be knowledgeable in the plant manufacturing process. Must be able to apply this knowledge for any cost analysis.Must be very knowledgeable of the creation of standard/actual cost per unitBachelor's Degree in Accounting, Business or FinanceMBA Preferred 5+ years related Manufacturing Controller experience in a leadership roleExcellent computer knowledge and skills requiredExpertise in financial accounting, reporting systems, payroll and delivery methods.Strong analytical skills: Ability to analyze data, form conclusions, and develop actionable recommendations in a timely manner.Strong internal controls orientation with ability to implement centralized policies across a variety of different practicesDemonstrable quality improvement skills with attention to creation of processes and controls in order to achieve timely and accurate results.Strong verbal and written communication skills required to effectively communicate with external and internal customers.Exceptional interpersonal skills; ability to interface with all levels and positions within the organization and build consensus.Strong time–management skills; ability to thrive at handling multiple projects simultaneously in a fast–paced, ever–changing environment.Must demonstrate strong skills in: problem solving, communication, detail orientation, organization and leadershipAbility to accept and adapt to a changing environment.Preferred AttributesExperience with Accounting, Payroll and Purchasing SoftwareExperience in implementing Lean principles in a financial environmentMust be very knowledgeable of the creation of standard/actual cost per unit.Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Business or Finance RequiredMBA Preferred 5+ years related controller experienced in Manufacturing requiredExpertise in financial accounting, reporting systems, payroll and delivery methods.Strong analytical skills: Ability to analyze data, form conclusions, and develop actionable recommendations in a timely manner.Strong internal controls orientation with ability to implement centralized policies across a variety of different practicesDemonstrable quality improvement skills with attention to creation of processes and controls in order to achieve timely and accurate results.Strong verbal and written communication skills required to effectively communicate with external and internal customers.Exceptional interpersonal skills; ability to interface with all levels and positions within the organization and build consensus.Strong time–management skills; ability to thrive at handling multiple projects simultaneously in a fast–paced, ever–changing environment.Must demonstrate strong skills in: problem solving, communication, detail orientation, organization and leadershipAbility to accept and adapt to a changing environment.
