PRIMARY OBJECTIVES/RESPONSIBLITIES
REQUIREMENTS
- General Ledger: Entry of monthly journal entries for reclassifications and accruals. Monthly reconciliation of petty cash accounts. Monthly reconciliation and backup for all balance sheet accounts.
- Payroll: Submit and review bi-weekly payroll entries, including time cards and commission payments. Maintain deductions for non-company sponsored benefits.
- Cash Receipts: Receive all checks and direct deposits for commissions. Pull and match commissions statements from insurance carriers. Enter cash receipts into MIS and remotely deposit any checks.
- Commissions: Enter payments/commissions statements into GBS (commission tracking system). Process commission payments to internal and external agents monthly. Reconcile against any draw/advance payments accordingly.
- A/P: Receive, code and submit all invoices to corporate office for payment processing. Record invoices as paid after corporate office issues payments.
REQUIREMENTS
- Position will commence in our Birmingham, MI, office at approximately 15 hours per week while training. Training will take approximately 2 to 3 months. After that, the position will be located at our Farmington Hills, MI office and the regular hours will vary from 8 to 12 hours/ week depending on workload.
- 5 years bookkeeping experience
- Analytical capabilities a must along with intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Excel
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Must be able to establish priorities and execute them eventually with minimal assistance.
- Exceptional communication and people skills
- Applicant should be a self-starter who works well under pressure both alone and as part of a team
