McCain Foods Limited is seeking an Accounting summer interns with the opportunity to work within one of the following departments: Corporate Accounting (Financial Reporting), Internal Audit, Financial Planning and Analysis or Corporate Taxation.

This position will be a full-time 4-month contract from May 2021 - August 2021.

Position Summary:

Based out of the Global head office in Toronto, the Accounting Summer Intern will act as a partner to support the day-to-day operations of the respective team they are assigned to: Corporate Accounting (Financial Reporting), Internal Audit, Financial Planning and Analysis or Corporate Taxation. These teams play an important role in McCain operations and are integral to producing and maintaining financial information within McCain. As the Accounting/Finance Summer Intern, you will have the opportunity to gain insight into several areas of the business.

This position will be a full-time 4-month contract from May 2021 - August 2021.

Candidate will be assigned to one of the following functions:

• Corporate Accounting (Financial Reporting)
• Internal Audit
• Financial Planning & Analysis
• Corporate Taxation

Key Accountabilities could include:

• Assist with quarterly and annual financial reporting requirements, as well as the preparation of financial information required for the MD&A and other supplementary reports
• Support the Internal Audit Team in wide range of financial and operational reviews at McCain operations globally to ensure the reliability of financial information, a strong internal control environment, and compliance with corporate policies and procedures
• Assist with the planning, coordinating and execution of audits of the organizations major business and accounting processes to identify opportunities for improvement
• Assist with preparation of ad hoc analysis and presentation as required by the regional management, the CFO, and senior leadership team
• Assist with preparation of corporate income tax returns and supporting working papers, as well as quarterly tax provisions under IFRS
• Assist tax team in responding to tax audits

Qualifications:
• 2nd or 3rd year university student, enrolled in a Bachelor's degree in Finance or Accounting or related field
• Interest in obtaining CPA designation
• Excellent communication, problem solving, and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work in a team environment
• Demonstrated ability to multi-task with proven organizational skills
• Strong analytical skills and attention to detail
• Experience with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook)
