General Overview Reporting to the Budget Director, the Sr Financial Analyst will be an integral part of the NSMC finance team to ensure that the development and implementation of financial plans are consistent with corporate, hospital–wide and departmental goals and objectives. This position must be able to interact effectively with operational, administrative and other finance staff and management, including senior leaders. The ability to provide meaningful and timely information designed for various customers and audiences is essential.Principal Duties and Responsibilities • Will have primary or supporting responsibility for selected assignments related to various fiscal functions including operating and capital budgets, cost accounting, benchmarking, financial analysis and reporting, and accounting. • Will act as a resource for Department Managers, Directors and VPs to assist in understanding how to access and interpret financial information relative to their operations and act as a liaison to help resolve issues that involve other departments. • Will coordinate efforts with Corporate and local Finance departments including Revenue Cycle, Net Revenue, Central Accounting, Corporate Budgets, etc. to ensure consistency and accuracy in applying standards, policies and procedures. • Must analyze and interpret data, summarize data in meaningful ways and make recommendations for various options as appropriate. • Must initiate corrective action and be able to handle problem solving and decision making. In addition, this position must take a leadership role and be able to direct and influence others effectively and efficiently in accomplishing assigned tasks. • Must be able to work accurately on multiple assignments, reprioritizing as needed to meet deadlines, both independently and as part of the team. • Must be able to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing, with demonstrated presentation skills. • Must be able to extract data from various sources and systems. • This position will help supervise, train and develop the Budget and Analytics staff in completing assignments for which he/she has primary responsibility and in those areas of demonstrated expertise. • Must act fiscally responsible within the resources available.Qualifications Qualifications Experience:Required: Three years' experience in accounting, finance, business or related field required.Preferred: Healthcare experience a plus.Education/Degree requirements:Required: Bachelors Degree in Accounting, Finance or related field.Preferred: Demonstrated understanding of cost accounting concepts. Skills/Abilities/Competencies Required: Strong PC skills, including Microsoft Excel and Powerpoint. Excellent communication skills and interpersonal skills; able to deal with all levels of management and staff. Excellent organizational skills and ability to handle multiple complex tasks and priorities. Ability to meet deadlines and function in a fast–paced environment.
