General Overview Reporting to the Finance Director of Mass General Brigham Continuing Care, the Senior Financial Analyst will be responsible for analyzing and reporting financial performances for all entities under the continuing care umbrella and answering ad–hoc financial and operational analytical requests using different systems and databases across Mass General Brigham. This position will also work closely with the Decision Support Team of Mass General Brigham Strategic Operations Management and different levels of personnel from IS, Finance and Hospital Operations to maintain the Cost Accounting and Decision Support system EPSi for Mass General Brigham Spaulding and perform associated financial and operational analytics for both Acute and Non–Acute Hospitals across Mass General Brigham Healthcare.Principal Duties and Responsibilities • Prepare PCC financial performance reports for Hospital Senior Finance Management team and Trustees; • Analyze and Interpret both internal and external data sources, including operational, financial and clinical data, using Excel VBA, SQL, R and SAS and present findings and/or proposals to the project stakeholders; • Perform EPSi Monthly costing process including RVU collection, Data feeds audit and upload, unit cost and revenue calculation and reconciliations and ensure EPSi data integrity and accuracy using MS Excel and Access; • Work with Decision Support team, IS, Finance and Hospital department heads to resolve any EPSi issues, serve as primary contact for any EPSi related questions or analytical requests and provide ongoing communication to managers regarding system updates, issues or concerns. Acts as liaison, problem solver, and facilitator; • Lead Process Improvement efforts within and across departments– developing solutions to automate and improve workflows and reduce manual and repetitive processes; • Train staff members on systems and departmental projects and tasks as neededQualifications Qualifications • Finance–related bachelor's degree required. Management–related master's degree and Healthcare background is preferred. • Advanced data analytical skills including programming languages like SQL, Excel VBA, R and SAS are required. • Advanced Microsoft Excel, Access and PowerPoint skills are required. Tableau or other data visualization tools are preferred. • Minimum of 2–year experience in healthcare financial analysis and management, preferably within a post–acute–care focused setting. • Minimum of 2–year direct experience with EPSi or an equivalent cost accounting and decision support system with familiarity in financial and patient focused applications such as Epic and Vision. Skills/Abilities/Competencies • Excellent communication skills (verbal, written, and presentation). • Strong attention to detail and proactive attitude to continuously improve current work processes.
