Job Description

Lexacount Search is seeking an accountant who will report to the Assistant Controller. S/He will be responsible for the timely processing and accounting for day to day transactions for NRGI's headquarters. Responsibilities: Process accounts payable transactions, cash receipts, payments and general ledger transactions; Administer petty cash; Perform the processing of functional and benefits expense allocations, monthly accruals, amortization of prepaid expenses, fixed assets depreciation and recording of adjusting and reclassification journal entries; Perform preliminary account reconciliations (including corporate credit card and staff/ consultant advances) in an accurate and timely manner, ensure that account discrepancies found in reconciliation process are resolved; Prepare weekly bank analyses; Assist with monthly general ledger close process to ensure proper cut-off for reporting; Identifying, need for new accounts or retirement of old GL accounts, and coordination to ensure that new accounts are properly reflected for reporting purposes; Perform data and journal entry uploads and downloads of various information; Review expense coding and ensure that all invoices and staff reimbursements are paid accurately and in accordance with Finance policies and procedures; Assist with the production of various financial reports including financial statements and grant reporting; Research vendor and other transactional queries and recommend solutions as required; Assist with preparation of supporting schedules, financial statements and notes for external audit and the form 990; Assist in preparation of budget and forecasts including project budgets; Process inputs to third party payroll service and post payroll journals; Assists CFO and/ or Assistant Controller with a variety of tasks as needed. Must have a Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance preferred; Minimum 2 years' experience in accounting, preferably non-profit; A background in non-profit accounting accounts receivable and payable, payroll and GL reconciliations; Knowledge and understanding of nonprofit accounting, thorough knowledge of GAAP; Experience working with web based ERP system, experience with NetSuite strongly preferred.; Experience with US and foreign government and institutional grant accounting and reporting a plus; Ability to work independently and cooperatively and collaboratively across all levels of the organization and internationally.
