Job Description Summary:

The Finance Manager, India will be the initial point of contact for India for a broad range of Finance matters, including tax, accounting, accounts payable, payroll and financial planning and analysis. In this capacity, the position will be responsible for ensuring timely submission of tax returns (CIT, GST, TDS, interfacing with the professional firm for all direct and indirect tax related matters such as TDS/ GST coding, payroll withholding and reporting, facilitating accounting and auditing process, support for budgeting and reporting, the execution of financial controls, and other finance related responsibilities as assigned.

Job Description:

As the Finance Manager, India you will:

Tax Responsibilities
  • Provide tax consultancy services in relation to New Product Approvals and adhoc queries from the business.
  • Coordinate with third-party tax service providers and facilitate signatures/company chop (i.e., seal or stamp)
  • Review CFAIPL credit card expenses for tax requirements (RCM GST or TDS withholding) prior to payment by credit card
  • Prepare and file monthly, quarterly and annual indirect tax returns (GSTR-1, GSTR-3B)
  • Prepare and file monthly and quarterly TDS withholding returns
  • Provide the TDS tax receipts challan for financial audit and ensure all regulatory filing (26Q/27Q, Form 16A, etc.) are completed accurately and timely; distribute quarterly Form 16A to vendors timely.
  • Coordinate preparation of annual Tax Audit Report (Form 3CA & 3CD) and GST Audit Report between third party tax service provider and financial auditors.
  • Prepare and file quarterly CIT advance tax estimates and assist/prepare annual ITR-6 income tax return Assist with preparation of annual Transfer Pricing Report Form 3CEB
  • Coordinate annual Letter of Undertaking (LUT) with third party tax service provider
  • Coordinate annual Country by Country (CbC) and Master File (MF) reporting with third party tax service provider
  • Coordinate annual Specified Financial Transaction (Form 61A) reporting with third party tax service provider
  • Coordinate MSME annual reporting with third party provider (where applicable)
  • Coordinate invoice tax coding and payment process for intercompany invoices between Accounting, AP and third-party tax service provider. Perform monthly reconciliation of tax accounts to tax filings
  • Respond to miscellaneous inquiries from vendors/customers or tax bureaus related to financial transactions
  • Serve as liaison for CFAIPL events between Tax, Accounting and third-party event registration service providers for event invoice preparation and correct tax invoice presentation to customers
  • Create local FBAR and FACTA reporting (where applicable)


Accounting Responsibilities
  • Prepare monthly CFAIPL INR financials for consolidation into CFA US monthly financials
  • Ensure the local journal entries and records are complete, accurate and timely
  • Support the information flow related to accruals, fixed assets, and leases to keep records updated as appropriate
  • Support Statutory Audit and Internal Audit
  • Assist in the execution and delivery of audit document requests (ADR), such as confirmations, and signatures on financial statements and engagement letters
  • Provide local bank account reconciliations (where applicable)
  • Conduct in-country monitoring/testing of financial controls for financial reporting according to local requirements
  • Assist with document retention per local India statutory requirements


Accounts Payable Responsibilities
  • Ensure payments are coded correctly, actively liaise with external consultants for accurate coding, timely withholding and reporting of TDS and GST
  • Generate GL tax coding of CFAIPL vendor invoices prior to payment
  • Assist AP to obtain required Forms 15CA and 15CB from third-party tax service provider monthly to ensure CFAIPL payments are made timely to vendors located outside of India (including payments to US parent organization).
  • Follow up and resolve payment issues
  • Administration of local corporate credit card program
  • Act as local vendor liaison regarding AP payment issues/adjustments, including reconciling vendor accounts and tracking disallowed vendor ITC credits
  • Make local AP payments (where applicable)
  • Perform final event billing reconciliations


Treasury Responsibilities
  • Coordinate with local banks on forms, agreements, signatories, transactions, problem resolution, etc.
  • Forecast revenue, expenditures and cash flow
  • Support execution of funding, intercompany flow activity and services agreements
  • Contract monitoring for local customers (exhibitor/sponsors, etc.); includes resolution of invoicing issues
  • Support and execute fraud-related controls


Payroll Responsibilities
  • Responsible for accurately prepare the local payroll output based on instruction and governing laws and regulations, arranging funding and perform journal posting
  • Responsible for administering the tax receipts challan for audit and ensure all regulatory filing (27A/24Q, IW-1, form 16, PT, PF, LWF, etc.) is completed on time and accurately
  • Administer local electronic reporting portal for EPFO, MLWF, NPS, etc.
  • Facilitate the annual tax receipt collection process for allowance eligibility computation by payroll vendor
  • Provide proactive updates to regional and global team for labor law changes, tax rule changes and assess impact and assist implementation


Financial Planning & Analysis Responsibilities
  • Act as Finance Business Partner to Senior Country Head, India, challenging and shaping business plans.
  • Coordinate and support country budgeting by revenue and expense forecasting, budget process and tool coordination by collaborating with the APAC finance team
  • Support country financial performance financial performance analysis including budget variance analysis reporting for country leader


The skills and experience required for this role are:
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or an equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Minimum 5-7 years of experience in some combination of tax, accounting, payroll, financial planning and analysis
  • Fluency in English required
  • Experience with APAC and responsibility in a multinational organizational preferred
  • Knowledge and experience of financial markets and issues within the APAC region
  • Experience in project management, with skills necessary to interpret what is needed for the success of a project and to create appropriate schedules for timely delivery
