Business Analyst, State Control Centre
WHAT IS THE STATE CONTROL CENTRE?
Victoria's State Control Centre (SCC) is the primary control centre for the management of emergencies. The SCC is the hub of a network of regional control (RCC) and incident control (ICC) centres across the state.
Having a role with SCC means you're a part of the massive task of delivering and supporting the people and services needed for a particular emergency. The critical and urgent nature of states of emergency mean that you are making an important contribution to the people of Victoria.
With more frequent, intense, and converging emergencies forecast into the future, the SCC is moving to a new model which will ensure the centre can operate 24 hours a day, seven days a week, 365 days a year to manage a range of major emergencies and keep the community safe.

- assessing the current and expected future state of the emergency to support strategic decision-making
- engaging with and providing information to key stakeholders and the State Emergency Management Team
- implementing emergency control strategies and arrangements
- producing and delivering information and community warnings
- prioritising the allocation of state and specialist resources
- providing support to state, regional, incident control and agency personnel.
- Collect, maintain and analyse financial and other data related to the business unit's programs.
- Maintain cost and econometric models for programs and services and provide related analysis to inform future business cases and resource requirements
- Develop frameworks that assist in the evaluation of activities and provide an effective basis for decision making
- Develop, prepare and analyse core data and inputs that support the business unit Executive in meeting production of the business plan
- Prepare briefs, discussion papers and reports incorporating recommendations for the minister, key leaders and senior departmental officers on complex and sensitive issues.
We are looking for people with:
- Demonstrated experience in the structuring and analysis of financial and other data and the provision of advice and recommendations based on such analysis
- Demonstrated experience in supporting the development of business cases
- Demonstrated experience working in a corporate environment is highly desirable.
