- To provide specialist and expert tax advice and information on all South African taxes as well as international taxes as required, in order to inform a prudent and effective tax strategy within the bank.
- To be responsible for tax risk management and compliance for the business so that all tax activities in the Bank's tax practice area comply with all applicable tax laws and internal and external compliance and reporting requirements.
Experience
Minimum:
- 5 - 8 years' tax planning and management experience and responsibility for interpretation and application of tax legislation
- Responsibility for risk and compliance of domestic and international taxation matters
- Applying know how to recommend and propose tax efficiencies and improvements
- Liaising with stakeholders at all levels, including Executive
Ideal:
- Financial and/or tax experience in Capitec Bank or
- In a Financial services/ Corporate environment
Qualifications (Minimum)
- A relevant degree in Commerce or Finance
Qualifications (Ideal or Preferred)
- Qualified Chartered Accountant (CA)
- A relevant qualification in Commerce or Tax
Knowledge
Minimum:
- SARS rules and regulations
- Detailed knowledge of South African tax related legislation
- Details and intricacies of the many and various domestic and international tax
- South African economic and political landscape as applicable to tax matters
- IT systems as support for tax information and management
- Of the International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) and accounting principles.
- Understanding and general insight of domestic, global/ international taxation dynamics and trends
