AVP Project Analyst - BOAT -HYD
The Business Onboarding and Transition (BOaT) department is seeking a candidate to work as a Transitions Manager and Business/Project Analyst. As a Project Manager in GOPS’s Business Onboarding and Transition team you will oversee all phases of the project lifecycle for strategic business operational initiatives. These projects may involve process optimization, operational improvements implementation, operating model restructure, risk mitigation and controls or growth strategy opportunities. You are a self-starter who is comfortable with uncertainty and deadline pressure and possess knowledge of the asset management industry and the processes that support it. You will lead the end-to-end planning and management of multiple projects to ensure delivery within expected timeframes and business objectives
Job Description
  • Direct and manage project development from beginning to end including strategy development, execution, and reporting
  • Collaborate with Business and Global Operations leads identifying resources required to support & deliver transition/ change management projects
  • Identify, evaluate and track progress of project risks, issues and dependencies, escalating them appropriately with suggested mitigation approach
  • Represent Global Operations in Project meetings with client and other State Street business lines
  • Identify opportunity for product automation based on project timeline, service requirements and products offered
  • Define project scope, goals and deliverables that support business goals in collaboration with the senior management team and stakeholders.
  • Develop full-scale project plans and associated communications documents. Track project milestones and deliverables
  • Effectively communicate project expectations to team members and stakeholders in a timely and clear fashion.
  • Estimate the resources, timescales and participants needed to achieve project goals.
  • Set and continually manage project expectations with team members and other stakeholders.
  • Develop and deliver progress reports, proposals, requirements documentation, and presentations.
  • Determine the frequency and content of status reports from the project team, analyze results, and troubleshoot problem areas.
  • Coach, mentor, motivate and supervise project team members and contractors, and influence them to take positive action and accountability for their assigned work
  • Understand, follow and demonstrate compliance with all relevant internal policies and procedures and provide input to the further development of best practices
  • Collaborate with appropriate teams globally to ensure consistent service delivery client solutions and client satisfaction
  • Interpret project needs and work to meet those needs, offering assistance and advice on standard practical issues may call on others for help in situations outside own area of knowledge
  • Identify, develop and deploy process improvements leading to service level improvements and/or unit cost & operational risk reduction
Skills and Experience:
  • Proven track record of related related/industry experience in financial services or consulting (expertise specifically Fund Accounting and Back office operations and/or consulting strongly preferred)
  • 5-8 years of experience of project management skills preferred
  • Working at senior levels in an organization together with the capability of communicating effectively at that level
  • Working in matrix structures and cross cultural environments with an ability to operate on their own and as part of a team
  • Demonstrated accuracy and attention to detail a must
  • Strong influencing and negotiating skills when dealing with customers (internal or external) is preferred
  • PMP certification a plus
  • Numeracy/Financial Analysis preferred
  • Strong interpersonal and organization skills
  • Knowledge of State Street systems/processes preferred but not required
  • Prior experience in developing executive communication preferred but not required
  • Proficiency in PowerPoint and word
Required Competencies:
  • Must have a high level of integrity, self-accountability and be self-motivated
  • Leadership / Ability to work with minimal supervision
  • Deadline and detail oriented
  • Very strong interpersonal influencing collaboration and project management skills (technology and/or business projects)
  • Excellent communication and writing skills required
  • Proficiency in Microsoft PowerPoint Project Visio Excel and Word
