Are you a finance professional with a passion for compliance and governance, seeking a new and exciting opportunity? An Accountant - Governance & Compliance role has arisen in our growing, forward thinking Record to report department, based at our site in Glascoed.

As an Accountant Governance and Compliance, you will provide a number of back office finance activities to Business units across BAE Systems. The activities undertaken within the team include of Payroll Accounting, Fixed Asset Accounting, Month End Reporting, General Accounting, VAT and Statutory Reporting and are carried out using various technologies including robotics.

Your main responsibilities as a Accountant Governance and Compliance will involve:

Developing good understanding of our processes including Timetables and Responsibilities

Supporting management of Robotic activities within the team

Supporting standardisation of processes

Ensuring all process are compliant with and delivered within our Finance Policies

Reporting on wider team performance

Documenting, Maintain and Challenge processes

Supporting the coordination of Statutory Accounts submissions

Document and Record coordinating

Performing regular audit activities to ensure compliance

Performing Process Confirmations

Performing self-audits

Supporting Project activities

Your skills and qualifications:

Essential

ACCA/CIMA Part/Newly qualified Accountant

Passion for control and governance

Strong IT skills, particularly in the use of Microsoft Office

An ability to work as part of a busy team environment

Desirable

Experience in a Shared Service Centre

Flexibility with an appetite for change

Very strong organisational skills

Location: Glascoed - (Within easy reach of Cardiff, Newport, Bristol, and the Valleys)

Salary: £30,000+
